Certainly seem very industrious Edwin. Wish I still had that energy. I liked that idea of using an aquarium heater to heat the propagator, very novel. It is the sort of thing that I like to see. People getting round problems by using their brains and lots of innovation. well done. I wouldnt say industrious but organized otherwise you cant grow so much different kinds of stuff

Today i had to work in garden for few hours although wheather wasn't to good. Liliums had to be be planted and offcourse in the section where they should be i already planned some raspberry-strawberries last year so i had to replace those first and put them together with the other strawberries. My 2 sections with strawberries, in the front now 4 lines with those amazing sweet raspberry-strawberries, total strawberries up to 200 plants. Last year i had days i had to pick upto 5 kilo's strawberries. ;D ;D I also prepared a few sections for salads and other veggies and a big pieces for flatt leave parsley, in the front you can see a blackberry and next to it will be a big lavas plant On the right side you can see where i planted the 100 Liliums bulbs, before the strawberries where standing there. And to the left there will be about 3m2 of herbs, chives already coming out in the back and later basil, marjoram, sage, tyme and some dill so i can cook some food with decent taste ;D ;D ;D That's it for today, now need my rest but first put the sweetpeas outside in the plastic green house with a fan heater.

You are well ahead with your preparations Edwin. It will be a good month before I can start planting on my allotment.
btw your sweetpeas will not need to have any heat when you put them outside.....they are very hardy.....and you are more likely to do them damage by heating them.

I will just heat them for few days at 10 c because they come from inside where it was about 15c. And after few days they can do without at 0, or is the difference not to big at once?

If yu are putting them straight into the plastic greenhouse, they should be ok. If you are concerned a bit of fleece over them for a few days should be ok. I've not had problems transferring from the greenhouse to a cold frame. Good luck ;D

And then there is something i am really proud on, my self made Mediterenian brick oven. For baking my own pizzas and sour dough bread in the summer after hard work in the allotments ;D Hope you all got some idea now how i am planning and preparing for coming season... Greetings Edwin Oh boy i love your oven Edwin, it will be great to see how your garden and growing progresses over the season ;D I leave my sweetpeas in my unheated polytunnel and they are fine. I am in North east Scotland and it gets cold up here. -6 last night!

Today i have been potting a 120 dahlia seedlings mostly from the waterlily type, they come out of Onesta and few others but where standing in between many others, so it will be a suprise what will come out. Now i will start seeding my tomatoes, about 15 different species, and put them in the propagator. Will make a list after and post them, many small species for at home against a south wall of 6m2, will be covered with hanging pots. Well here are my tomatoes for this year: Pendulina red, yellow and orange. Millefleur. Ilka. Goldkopfchen. Mini fuzzy wuzzy. Fuzzy peach. Gardeners delight. Firenze. Black plum. Black krim. Italian pride. Klass. The big varieties go into the greenhouse on the allotment about 4 plants each and the smaller ones just stay home ;D Like i wrote in an other topic, this year no chillis. Still enough in freezer to last a few years ;D ;D Dahlia tubers are doing ok, in a few days i can start taking my first cuttings for this year

Also will have to stop the sweatpeas in the greenhouse in a few days.. Spring is coming, 15C in a few days Here is a picture off what i was doing in the 100m2 flower garden in the allotment today Started making flower beds, 3 small ones behind the plum tree and 1 long from 7x1 meter for helianthus in the front and behind that 5 bigger beds. In the back you can see the aspergus bed, tiles are also gone now PS. made pictures of tomatoes and dahlia cuttings with mob but they are not good enough... Not going upstairs anymore today expect to go to bed... they will come soon.. But now first

What a lot of work. Edwin it doesn't matter if it is repeated. I am always doing this and I have been here long enough to know better. I could delete it, but there is no need.
