We have our ways When you post to tinypic you will find to the left of the picture about 4 links. One says image for message boards and forums. Highlight that with your mouse, right click with your mouse to copy, then when you come on here right click again and paste. That's it.

It has to work because that is exactly what I did. Are you using a phone to try and upload your photos? Or an Ipad or something? Don't know if that makes a difference. Here is your picture link

They look really good snute. Mine are coming along now after a slow start. Have got 22 different dahlias now in growth, will be taking cuttings tomorrow for the first time this year . Sadly, I've had to remove 4 of last years tubers as they have shown no sign whatsoever of life, and some seem very slow to make roots, but I'm very reluctant to pull them up. Think I'll give them another week, although I'm going up to Suffolk and Essex on Friday to pick up 5 new tubers, Lilac Time, Ludwig Helfert, Spassmacher, Apache and Vuurvogol. So I think I'll have to be hard hearted and pull them out to make space

Does anybody spray they new cuttings with either chestnut compound or fungus spray to stop them dampening off. I've read a couple of articles from dahlia experts who do this, but other experts do not. Also, what temperature is best for cuttings to take root.

Does anybody spray they new cuttings with either chestnut compound or fungus spray to stop them dampening off. I've read a couple of articles from dahlia experts who do this, but other experts do not. Also, what temperature is best for cuttings to take root. I use amistar which is a very good fungacide and also acts as a growth stimulent. This is sprayed three times during the growing season. Once when the tubers show their pips, again when the cuttings are rooted and a final time 4 weeks after planting out. At £280.00 for 5 ltrs its a bit on the pricey side but you only need to apply at the rate of 1 ml per gallon of water. I was put onto this by a good mate and was fortunate enough to buy 1 ltr off him last year. For those who are good at maths this would be enough to make up 1000 gallons of product. Most of all it has an endless shelf life. www3.syngenta.com/country/uk/en/ProductGuide/Pages/Amistar.aspx
