It is lovely to get to know you candyblue. There is more to you than dahlias. When our local lady left the guides and brownies, the Southery branch finished. So sad.

Moonlight the idea sounds good, just in practice I`m not sure how much time I have to set one up as at the moment we are in process of setting up a new scout group in the village and I`ve been roped in as Beaver scout leader for my sins! I think Rob may leave me if I joined another committee or maybe I could give up work, now there's an idea - if only Respect. In my head neither of you were going to have to be leaders of it, more a case, of those people that put the feelers out there asking if there were any other dahlia enthusiasts in the area and seeing if anyone was interested in meeting up as a group and going from there.
Candy Blue you've shown your dahlias before, haven't you?* Where did you do that?
*n.b. If I am wrong about whether or not you have entered shows, I'll put it down to a long day.

Candyblue, do you use your vases, or are they supplied by the organizers. I've made a date of the shows you gave me, and will attend to see how it's done . Jill says, your a woman out of her own heart, " you can't beat a pint of chilled cider" . Three cuttings arrived today from Ridgeview Nurseries, Scotland. They are, Wootton Impact, Jet Fire and Amaran Relish. Another proper dahlia supplier, whose plants are worth the money.

I like this time of year, when the new plants start arriving Tel . Which dahlias did you get? I saw he's advert in the winter bulletin, and was interested in clearview sundance, but I'd already ordered madam de rosa.

I have my own vases but use a mixture, at Potton you have to provide your own, but Letchworth and Shillington provide vases.

Made an order from Clearview last year:
for my Dad Clearview David, Clearview Debby, Clearview Misty, Clearview Sundance, Clearview Orca, Clearview Louise, Clearview Irene, Clearview Tammy,
I ordered Clearview Jenny, Clearview Arlene for me (and we were sent an extra Clearview Orca as a freebie.)
Of the tubers that were delivered there were not many eyes and few developed enough to take cuttings or took a long time. Clearview Jenny and Orcha didn't grow enough to take cuttings or even show signs of life. Some of the plants Dad was not impressed with so didn't bother digging them up.
Made another order this year They've replaced Clearview Misty, Tammy, Jenny (Orcha failed but was a freebie so that doesn't count). We have also ordered Clearview Edie and Clearview Audrey. Also received my Candy Jayne which is that variegated dahlia (and a little bit different) that I wanted for the last couple of years and it was Candy Jayne that had the most noticeable of this years tubers.
Fingers crossed that they will all develop into good blooms.

Also ordered tubers from somewhere else which you can choose to order 'pot roots' (Where available) or the usual tubers (aka chicken legs - i.e. bits of tubers) including Clearview Tammy & Clearview Claret but not for me for my Dad.

Moonlight, nice to know I'm not the only one who orders lots of different kinds of dahlias . They all look like nice flowers to show in the garden or the bench. I hope they are better than the ones you got last year, happy growing. On another note, back to my Woolmans dinner plate collection, with no labels. After seven days, four phone calls and 8 emails , they are going to send the tubers individually. They sell the tubers in packets of three, so it looks like I'm going to get 15 tubers according to their confirmation email . Oh well, don't know where I'm going to put them all.

The number of plants moonlight orders, is very few in number to say her garden is 25 acre's

That's the sort of size garden I need. Even my 56 different dahlias would look lost, so I better dream on
