how do you other dahlia growers fasten up your plants have put 160 tuberes in all indevidualy staked there must be a less timeconsumeing way i thought about trying pig wire but it seems a bit clarty same as pea netting but i wonder how difficult it would be when cutting down at the end of the year Robh, this is how I support my dahlias. Stock fencing, laid horizontally, supported on timber stakes. I just raise the wire as they grow taller. All very easy, and as the wire is galvanized I roll it up at the end of the season and store.

@markymate you are a good builder - a real craftsman. Tel is brilliant too. Goodness, so is ladybird, so it is not special to dahlia growers.

My pot grown dahlia's Geerlings Perfection, Small Cactus, arrived today from www.withypitts-dahlias.co.uk Must say they are lovely well grown plants. Thank you Richardr Thank you Tel, all the plants we send to customers are like those. I do not send out anything I would be unhappy to receive myself.

Hooray my Halls order is here apparently, luckily ROb is off and has taken charge of delivery and potting up! I have one order with the National Dahlia Collection. still not arrived. My order of 2 each of 5 varieties arrived today, 2 of the varieties only had one plant they are going to reimburse for the two plants they could not supply.

Just started to plant out my tall dahlias for the back of the display, and the heavens have opened . So I've come in to vent my frustration, arrrrrgh. Hopefully clear so, so I can at least get the rest of them in.

I placed an order for 12 noreen pom plants in January from 'PHEASANT ACRE PLANTS' to which I havn't heard a sniff from them. This was despite numerous emails, telephone messages and finally a recorded post letter sent 2 weeks ago with still no reply. I had hoped to confront them at the Malvern spring show 2 weeks ago but I couldn't get there due to other committments. If they think I'm going to let them keep my £28 and ignore me then they have another thing coming. Robbing B*******.

As well as helping to vent your anger @woodforddahlias6, this is a good warning to others. I hope you get some satisfaction. Gosh I am glad you used the *stars though.

gareth Maybe this will help more. Of all my dahlias Franz was the smallest size plant but that was mine, yours might be totally different.
