Will have to get down to the allotment in the morning, I have a dozen dahlia plants that have been in the car boot since last night, for a lady plot holder, that uses dahlia's in flower arranging. Went down to the allotment this morning with the dahlia's They say give a lady flowers well she got the whole plants. From there I paid a visit to Wrose Horticultural Society, for some oasis, they did not have any, but they did say they would order me two boxes and give me a ring when the delivery arrives.

hi DC looks good, had daves choice last year, very rubbery stems, i think you need to grow it 6 up, don't feel that you can justify that for a miniature, have you seen westerton iris, seen it in the bulletin looks good.

Looking really good Tracey, Robs certainly done a great job with the poly tunnel. You've got a good sized plot to work with there, and the ground looks good to. What's going to be your first show this year?

Wasn't too impressed with it. Very low growing, didn't throw up many laterals, a struggle to get any sort of length of stem. Apart from that, a nice shaped bloom. Definite one for double stopping early.

candyblue, that really looks fantastic - makes mine look a bit of a mess. Can I ask - do you use 3 canes per plant or a netting system. Also what distances are your plants and how wide are your rows.
Simon.

First surprise of the season. Took several cuttings from my tuber of Myrtles Folly, which I grew last year. One of the cuttings has just flowered, and is a very different colour from the tuber I cut it from. Still has the same fimbriation's, but is much yellower. Last year how it should look And how it looks this year. Baffling plants, Dahlias

The cheapest poly tunnel polythene I can find on the net, to cover the dahlia's is £99 now I will have to think about it, because is it worth spending that money when its only for this season.

"only this season" Tel.....are you stopping growing? No Lou, but I will be giving up the two allotments at the end of the year. The allotment near home is a half plot plus the council here don't like wooden frames putting up.
