Yes, got foliar feeds, soluble feeds, 3 insecticides, fungicides, and the kitchen sink to go on in the next few days That's after all crappy leaves are removed. You do seem to have healthy foliage on the plants as well. Mildew and red spider mite are more prevalent in dry conditions. Those plants look as if they are the ones grown under cover. If so then perhaps the answer is simply that they needed to be kept moister, both the soil and by spraying the plants regularly with clean water. As you say, remove all the diseased leaves and spray with insecticide and fungicide and see if there is any reinfection on the clean leaves. I wouldn't risk any feed as by now there should be enough in the soil to keep the plant growing quietly until autumn.

Good tips from you all I am also learning a lot. I am a shrub man and rose man. I feed my roses and shrubs spring and also again now until beginning of September then stop as they must have the power built up for spring push especially rhododendrons, camelias and azalias and if you want a last repeat on the roses also if they are evergreen they need it. Thanks for the tips and I wish scrumpy the best of luck in sorting his problems.
I would still give a touch of sequested iron diluted as a root drench to the worst affected plants purely for foliage colour and condition.

Last year was a very big year for me I started growing dahlias and won the Novice cup. So Novice no more I entered some of the Intermediate classes. I entered: 1 vase with a Large/Giant - Trooper Dan. 1 vase x3 Poms - Willo's Violet. 1 vase x3 Miniature - Weston Pirate and Weston Corsair. 1 vase x3 Small - Ruskin Myra and Ryecroft Zoe.
With my left over blooms I entered Single Bloom challenge classes. The exception being my Nuland's Josephine in the any other classification of dahlia class which I picked specifically for that class (No large pom class)
Retrospectively I could have tried for the Intermediate Championship and would have then been 1 of 3 entries but I'm glad that I did them in separate classes. 1st, x2 2nd and a 3rd. With my Single Blooms I won x2 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd.
Wow or what!

Wow very impressive Simon. Doesn't sound like you needed to do Novice and whizzed straight up to a higher level. Well done you. Good Luck in your next show.
