Ventured down the garden to look at the pond yesterday & the mating must have been successful - nice big blob of frogspawn which looks healthy despite the weather.

ladybird do you know anyone that has some you could maybe start with ? yes grindle my neighbors nephew is really into wildlife and has a big pond. He kindly gave me some spawn a few years ago for my old pond but they only got to tadpoles before disappearing. I asked my neighbour a few weeks ago about some but haven't heard anything yet. In my last house I found several frogs hopping about in the garden and I didnt even have a pond !

The tadpoles were wriggling around & emerging from their eggs in the sunshine yesterday, made a short video of them :-

It's only small ladybird, it's one of those pre-formed black plastic ones, I've never measured it, must check that out. It usually has about 6 frogs in & lots of tadpoles but not all the tadpoles make it to adulthood, some get eaten by the birds, hedgehogs & local cats!

I measured it yesterday ladybird, it's about 5ft x 3ft 6in on the inside & about 18in deep. Still lots of tadpoles in it & 3 frogs sunbathing yesterday.
