The frogs have been busy, got my first lot of spawn yesterday, will try and get a picture today, not sure it will last though with the cold snap coming

it looks like they arrived yesterday sweetpea, just 4 that I could see, I'm wondering if the ones I saw earlier were 2 of them

Went down to pond yesterday and heard a splash then noticed the pond was almost completely covered in spawn. If only tadpoles would eat duckweed

Probably not grindle but I also think the 3 I've seen might be all males, the last few years I think we've had a large light green coloured female & I've not seen her yet, hope she made it through winter although with the number of froglets we've had there should be a few more females around by now.

Well the sun brought them all out yesterday & the pond is now full of huge football sized blobs of frogspawn! There were 12 frogs in the pond that I could see & it was like a churning frog orgy in there!

I think it varies ladybird, some people have frogs in their ponds in January but it's usually late Feb. - early March here & as grindle said ours have settled down again after the mating frenzy the other week & I've only seen a couple in the pond over the last few days.
