It would be easy to go mad but I'd rather grow fewer plants well than two many! I work shifts and have two boys who are 18 months and 3 so there the same work as 1000 plants!

Hello forum has anyone grown a dahlia called citizen or dagla 80 ? Looking at these not for show but garden display.
Finalising my list for next season. Only 4 classes for showing the rest a mixture of all different types, size, colours so I can find out what I actually like and can grow well going forward.
Many thanks

Many thanks Raymond I have grown this one, it is a tall grower, you would need a step ladder to look at the centre of the bloom. I don't have it now. Richardr, Withypitt Dahlia's had or has it.

Good afternoon forum from sunny south east London. I have been going through the dahlias starting to dig up the ones that not been good or looking bad.
My biggest issue this year is spider mites. On close inspection of the plants red spider mite prevalent. Ultimate bug has not sorted the issue. Will be getting dynamec in for next year.
Any other suggestions regarding spider mite treatment prevention would be most welcome.
Will be getting sb invigorator as well.
I think I will sack the entire lot of dahlias. Will not over winter any showing any signs they will be burned.
All the best
