Some frost in Bradford last night, but the dahlias are still going strong.

We haven't had a frost but at least 50% of my dahlias have died back. I braved the rain and dug two plants today, the tubers look healthy. If the tops have died will the tubers still benefit from being in the ground or should I dig them up?
My Ruskin respectable are still green and producing flowers, I'll leave them until the first frost.

Once the dahlias have died back there is no point in leaving them in the ground if you do not want to lose them. Like you say the Ruskin are still green so they will be ok until the frosts.

Well I had planned to dig up tubers this weekend but have again changed my mind, with the mild weather I am going to leave them another week.I think the longer in the ground the better giving less chance for problems when lifted.
