The majority of dahlia growers will have planted out, or will be planting out their plants, now the dangers of frost has past. I finished planting out my plants yesterday, so this is the month i will be taking a holiday. While the young plants reluctantly send their roots into the garden soil, especially if they have been started in peat based compost, the plants will seem to stand still now for a few weeks until they get their roots down. But when they start to grow away, they will be 3ft tall in no time.

Gave away the finished with pot tubers, to the other allotment holders, except for the likes of Kenora Challenger, they went in the compost bin.

whats up with the challengers tel There is nothing wrong with them, i just do not give the allotment holders any varieties that are larger than small, for their plot or garden.

I wonder if the majority of dahlia nurseries have had problems this year with their cuttings, DC dahlia had a late delivery also.
