I received a text this afternoon from Steve, regarding Dahlia Blight. I think he has made a mistake, Dahlias there is not a disease called dahlia blight, i believe he may have mistaken it for Botrytis Blight, this can effect his dahlias this where the flower buds and other effect parts may be covered in a grayish powdery mould. I would advise any other dahlia growers if their dahlias suffer from this to just remove the affected parts. In Steve's case i would suggest he digs up all the dahlias infected or not and put his dahlias on the compost heap. To be on the safe side Steve because the spores from the mould may be on you, to stop yourself from been covered in this greyish mould i strongly recommend you stay out of the sun for a few days, as the sun would activate the spores, a nice windowless warehouse would do very nicely. ;D ;D ;D

To change the subject, I grew some 'City of Rotterdam' this year. Three have done what they should, this is the fourth one. Not much like 'City' is it? I don't suppose you know what it might be, do you? By the way, Tel, the three Dahlias that didn't sprout - I tipped them out, and although the tubers were sound, they'd rotted away from the stems.

Crumbs Les....thats a tall order........ ...It is very pretty though. All I can suggest you do is look at the sites that sell dahlias....they usually have lots of pics......and you might find yours......good luck
