Try a few mothballs round your plants Floydie.....it might help keep the "nasties" away.......

Had a very busy day today....it's the start of the preparation for Shrewsbury show. Went round all the plants, removed all damaged leaves, took off unwanted laterals, pinched out any buds that were showing, and double stopped a few that looked as if they needed it. Did some weeding, so everything looks neat. All geared up to producing buds from 12th - 18th July to have blooms ready 11th August.

I will make a start on stopping half of my plants towards the end of next week and the other half the week after. Except the variety Charlie Two, medium decorative, this is always late to flower for me, this will be stopped today, if it has grown enough, because i have not seen the plants for a week i am not sure of their progress.

all this rain has made everything nice and green, so i decided to lay off the fertilising. Don't want to much nitrogen . Will wait a week and go on to a balanced feed.

I can guarantee that whatever i do to Charlie two, and White C/Two, they always flower middle of August from a late May removal of the main bud, or stop at that time if the plants haven't got that bud showing. Even then, i'll be gowing some of them on side buds to hold them back.

Just given everything a good watering, will now remove all buds that are showing as they will be too early, then tomorrow a really good Chempak balanced feed. Will also be tying them all in today and tomorrow. I stick 3 canes around each plant and wind string around the canes to support the laterals.
