Now I dont know a great deal about collarettes but if thats a seedling tel I think you could be onto something there

That dahlia seedling looked very sorry for its self last night, after i dug it up and placed it in a pot. Seems to have recovered this morning though.

Thanks Grindle, it is spot on this morning. For a seedling it is a good healthy plant, with a lovely straight and hard stem. Some dahlias need plenty of potash to harden their stems, the seedlings have not had any feed of any kind. So this plant is a healthy plant and will reach up to 3ft and looks like it will be a easy plant to grow either in the garden/pot. A good all round plant that maybe could make a exhibition dahlia. Just one hurdle to get it over now, the storage over winter.

Tel I am gonna print a picture off of that seedling and show it to a friend of mine who grows them and see what he thinks,I personally think you are on to something their.
