Thanks for that DC, i have never shown a collarette so not really sure what is required, even if he gives it the thumbs down, it will make a lovely garden dahlia. ;D

I've looked at mine today and its more likey to be Weston Sunup. I think I sent yu this one last year ;D

The first thing to do if you have seed pods on a plant is to go round them all on a regular basis gentlly squeezing any moisture out of them.
When the pods change colour and are not as closed up as they were, i cut them and hang them upside down somewhere dry for a few weeks. When you take the seeds out if any, but they should be with collaretts, just keep the dark coloured seeds any that are light grey will not germinate.
I sow mine in March.
