Not seen any here yet but as the bats are out they shouldn't be far behind.

One of the most magical moments I've ever had was standing in the middle of my garden with about a dozen swifts wheeling about all round me.

It's great when you see when wheeching low across a field, we tend to get quite a lot of them round here. It always seems so quiet once they leave in autumn.

Can't be 100% certain but it looked like a swallow perched on a wire across the road as I was driving underneath. If it wasn't then it certainly gave a good impression of one.

We've had quite a few visitors today, all the usual suspects, blackbirds, bluetits, starlings, sparrows, magpie, collared doves & also a scruffy little coal tit hiding seed in the pieris, a greedy woodpigeon & what I think was a pair of greenfinches which we don't usually get in the garden. Few pics. taken from the back door so not too good 'Greedy guts' 'Scruffy' the coal tit

We have a sparrowhawk around - I keep finding sad piles of feathers. We saw it flash across the garden on Monday and it got its prey.

I saw a male sparrowhawk on the roof opposite a couple of weeks ago but haven't seen the female this year who usually hunts in our garden. We did have a pair of very sweet goldfinches in the garden yesterday morning. These are 2 pics. of one of the birds, the other was a bit elusive!

I heard this noise along the side of the greenhouse, looked over and saw.
Definitely checking to see what I was up to.

This little baby sparrow had bitten off more than it could chew today! Somehow it had got a piece of bread/bun stuck on it's beak sealing it shut, I was a bit worried as I watched it sitting like that for quite a few minutes but I think it's dad came back & removed it as I saw it about 10 minutes later without it. Took a photo on zoom through the window as I didn't want to frighten it.

Aw, they do get into some pickles at times.Could have been worse I suppose if it had been something more solid.

Sue you took some excellent pictures of the birds. The goldfinches look superb in the blossom tree.

Poor wee birdie, I agree with Cherry, you do take some great pictures Sue. I am rather pleased as i have discovered we have wrens nesting near the house, they are so cute
