There was a tuft of moss & blonde dog fur which had been dropped on the bird food tray here the other morning, no idea where they'd got the fur from as there are no dogs that colour nearby unless it was from one being walked on the back field - or perhaps they'd flown in via your garden?

A very sad day yesterday Well we'd watching the robins going in and out feeding there babies, earlier in the morning i saw the magpie hanging around i kept chasing him away but while we were out for our walk he got in and killed the remaining chicks. I was so upset, but like oh says that's life, the robins are still about i think some of the babies must have flown early as there still feeding Sorry if comes out upside down

I've copied them & turned them round for you lesley. That's a real shame but hopefully you're right & some of them escaped. I always worry about where birds nest here, sometimes they choose the worst places & you can see the magpies & local cats watching but I'm sure they must manage to raise some youngsters in the end.

Not really 'Garden' birds but watched three red kites circling overhead today. Not seen any for a little while but they are fairly common here.

I'd love to see a Green Woodpecker but I don't think we get those around here, do you have them near where you live grindle? We've seen a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker too a few years ago in Lymm but I think they're quite rare nowadays.

I had lots of them at the farm. Very pretty, but greedy with bird food. They sounded good when drilling the trees. We had A cuckoo too. There are none of those around here. I have got attached to the pigeons now. Actually, they are collared doves. They don’t seem so noisy. In fact I never hear them make a pigeon noise, so I wonder if they do.

Most of my birds have dissapeared !!! All but a Loyal Robin, a Faithful Blackbird, and a Dopey Wood Pigeon.
Mind you... a couple of house sparrows paid a visit two days ago, and a flock of juvenile starlings descended briefly yesterday.
I think they are either moulting, or they are foraging in the surrounding farmers fields ?
