Downloaded the entry form for the NDS trials at Golden Acre Park. Birkenshaw Pudsey will be going there if all the cuttings do not damp off.

Just received a email from the Leeds Trial's co-ordinator. They have only received 33 entries, they need 40 for what they say is a decent show. They want members to enter some more, if possible.

I will not be entering that one. its a nice garden dahlia, but I do not think it would do well in the trials. Just Birkenshaw Pudsey this year.

Tel if you were going to a show and there was a class that effectively had your Garden's Friend's 'name on it' (expression round here, not meant that there was a dedicated class for entries called Birkenshaw Garden Friends) would you want to show it?
At our local dahlia show there is are 2 classes for seedlings. 1 for dahlia's suitable for exhibition and 1 for dahlias suitable for the garden.
Are the Leeds trials exclusively for exhibition dahlias?

Are the Leeds trials exclusively for exhibition dahlias? Garden Friends, is more of a garden dahlia than a show variety. The Leeds Trials are for potential show varieties. I have my fingers crossed that Birkenshaw Pudsey, finishes in the top ten at the trials. Will be taking the plants to Golden Acre Park Monday morning.

Best of british Tel. never managed to get to any trials, even when I lived down the road from Wisley. Perhaps just as well as I would be permanently frustrated
