Good Afternoon Moonlight have plenty of stock of Hillcrest Kismet if you want any grew 20 plants of it this year very good Thank you very much for offering but I'm going to have to say no thank you. I am trying to limit what I grew mainly due to lack of space. At the moment I think that I'm drawn by 2 factors, smaller sized plants and deep colours. Trying to be good and not go mad this year with the no. of plants I try to grow. Emphasis on the word try.

Anyone else going through the dahlia catalogues?
Seen Marston Sharon is for sale, is this a new variety? Haven't managed to find a photo. Grew Marston George this year and I love it. Saw Barbarry Surprise at a show so put that very high on my wish list but then was told by another exhibitor that it doesn't flower for long. It did really well in one show but I don't remember seeing it in the other shows that I exhibited in. Saw Marston Suzanne and was told similar thing and that Barbarry Pip wasn't as good. Just want to ask other members what there experiences have been with these varieties including are they good seed parents? I've collected quite a lot of Marston George seeds this year, no idea of how many will germinate etc. but as I really like the deep dark varieties, wondered if the odds were in it's favour or basically 'you'd be lucky if you get anything from that one type of variety.'. I don't have a big garden or oodles of money, so everything that I get has to have something really special to make it worth the pennies, time and space. If not might have to stick with my Marston George and hope that I can over winter it. Has anyone seen Marston Sharon? Has anyone seen a photo online of it? Currently thinking of Weston Buccaneer because of the colour and Barbarry Surprise.
I was determined to stay away from the Decs (more of semi/cactus woman myself) but then I received Marston George which I love (+Brenda T which I'm not that fussed on.) and then I saw the Barbarry Surprise...
Oh dear.

Oh dear. Moonlight, definitely go for Weston Buccaneer, really deep colour, a lovely miniature cactus. I've ordered some plants from Halls, then saw it on the bench at Harrogate, so I'm happy to be getting it. I've got a tuber of Barbarry Surprise coming this winter, so I'm looking forward to trying this one, heard really positive things about growing this plant, so I'll try and do it justice

Marston Sharon looks like Jomanda And you know me I'm such a fan of Jomanda. Now is it terracotta brick like Jomanda or is there a bit more orangey orange about it?

If I was growing for the small cactus championship then I would want it yes it looks good plenty of petal in it. I think Les Jacksons new one Hillcrest Jersie is a better option than Sue's Kilmorie which has been around a couple of seasons.
